Here’s a surprising fact: did you know that more than half of all Americans over age 18 deal with bone and joint issues? If you suffer from bone or joint issues, know that you are not alone. The week of October 12 through 20th is Bone and Joint Awareness Week. October 12th is World Arthritis Day.
According to the Global Alliance on Musculoskeletal Health, approximately 1.7 billion people are affected by bone and joint conditions worldwide. In the U.S. in 2012, 126.6 million people stated that they had a musculoskeletal medical condition.
According to the CDC, in the 2010-2012 National Health Interview Survey, 52.5 million American adults stated that they had been diagnosed with arthritis. Children are also affected: the CDC estimated in 2007 that 294,000 children had arthritis and/or rheumatic conditions.

I have a very sore tumb and my specialist has recommended a Trapezial Joint Replacement. It is to remove the arthritic Trapezial bone at the base of your thumb and substitute with your own soft tissue flexor tendon. Has anyone had this procedure and is it a successful operation.
