This study looked at remote screening for diabetic retinopathy (DR; eye disease) in a Japanese population. This study showed that remote screening for DR is an effective way of identifying patients who need ophthalmic intervention.

This study compared hybrid closed-loop (HCL) insulin delivery to an insulin pump or daily injections for adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D). It found that an HCL system led to better glucose control and a more positive experience of managing diabetes.

This study looked at the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other complications in diabetic patients with low thyroid function (hypothyroidism; HT). They found that diabetic patients with HT were not at increased risk of major heart disease or stroke. However, these patients were more likely to develop diabetic eye disease and kidney disease.

This study compared real-time continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to flash CGM for patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D). It found that real-time CGM led to better glucose control and less hypoglycemia, both during daily activity and exercise.

This study examined the role of statin (cholesterol-lowering) therapy in lowering the risk of diabetic eye disease and sight-threatening complications of diabetes. They found that patients taking a statins were less likely to suffer from advanced diabetic eye disease than those not taking a statin.  

This analysis compared diabetes treatments for how much of the time blood sugar is in the target range. It found that closed-loop systems, which combine a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and insulin pump, led to better outcomes for people with type 1 diabetes (T1D).

This study examined which controlled blood glucose levels better in patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D) partaking in exercise – insulin pumps or a combination of insulin pumps and long-acting injections. The authors found that the combination was more effective for these patients.

This study examined if patients with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) who followed a healthy or Mediterranean diet had a higher quality of life. The authors found that patients who followed the Mediterranean diet had a better quality of life, but neither diet improved patients’ satisfaction with treatment.

This study looked at whether traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can help treat vision loss in patients with diabetes. This study found that TCM may help improve eye function and blood glucose levels for patients with diabetes who have DR.
