This study evaluated depression, anxiety, and patterns of mental health care in patients with prostate cancer receiving hormonal therapy such as androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). The data showed that almost half of the patients with prostate cancer receiving ADT diagnosed with depression do not receive a documented mental health treatment.

This study reviewed the effect of diabetes on lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The data suggested that LUTS were increased in patients with BPH that had diabetes compared to patients without diabetes.

This study investigated the effectiveness and safety of combining low-intensity extracorporeal shock wave therapy (Li-ESWT) with tadalafil (Cialis) and L-arginine for the treatment of patients with mild and moderate erectile dysfunction (ED). The data showed that daily therapy with tadalafil and L-arginine increased the effectiveness and the duration of benefits of Li-ESWT for these patients.

This study compared the effectiveness of PARP inhibitors for the treatment of patients with BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations in solid tumors. The data showed that PARP inhibitors could benefit both patients with BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations with similar effectiveness.

This article reviewed new studies on focal therapy (FT) in patients with localized prostate cancer (PCa), with a focus on treatment effectiveness. 

This study looked at the use of transurethral microwave thermotherapy (TUMT) for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) compared to transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). It found that both treatments are similarly effective in managing BPH symptoms. TUMT has fewer side effects than TURP, but it also results in an increased need for retreatment.

This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety outcomes of talazoparib (Talzenna) for the treatment of patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) with mutations in DNA repair genes. The data showed that talazoparib was effective with manageable side effects for these patients.

This study aimed to investigate the link between various treatments for castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) and cognitive (mental) dysfunction in older men. The main finding was that the treatments assessed did not appear to have an impact on cognitive function.

This study assessed the effectiveness of Fluxonorm® herbal supplement when combined with standard therapy for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The authors concluded that the effectiveness of standard therapy was improved by the addition of Fluxonorm® in patients with BPH.
