This study evaluated the effect of 3-dimensional (3D) digital models to plan robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALP) on the outcomes of patients with prostate cancer (PCa). The data showed that 3D digital models significantly improved the outcomes of these patients.

Is nocturia associated with poor nighttime blood pressure reduction?

This study evaluated the relationship between nocturnal polyuria (NP - excessive nighttime urine production) and 24-hour blood pressure fluctuations in patients with urinary symptoms. The data suggested that patients with NP had a poorer reduction of nighttime blood pressure.

This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of prostate artery embolization (PAE) compared to dutasteride (Avodart) and tamsulosin (Flomax) as the first alternative treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in patients who had not received previous treatment. The study found that PAE was more effective than medical treatment in these patients.

Comparing the safety and effectiveness of hormonal therapy alone versus chemo-hormonal therapy before prostate surgery in men with locally advanced prostate cancer

This study investigated whether adding docetaxel (Taxotere) chemotherapy to standard hormonal therapy (HT) before radical prostatectomy (RP - prostate-removal surgery) improved the survival of men with locally advanced prostate cancer (PCa) compared to hormonal therapy alone. It concluded that the addition of docetaxel-based chemo-hormonal therapy (CHT) improved the survival of these patients.

Is there an association between the use of antidiabetic drugs and erectile dysfunction?

This study examined whether there is an association between the use of antidiabetic drugs and erectile dysfunction (ED). It found that the use of gliclazide (Diamicron) and metformin (Glucophage) increased the risk of ED development. At the same time, there was no association between insulin use and the risk of ED development.
