This study investigated the safety and effectiveness of ABX464 (Obefazimod) in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) with inadequate responses to methotrexate (Trexall) or anti-tumor necrosis factor alpha (anti-TNFα) treatment. The authors concluded that ABX464 was safe and well-tolerated with promising effectiveness in these patients at a daily dose of 50 mg.

This study evaluated the 7-year follow-up remission rate and maintenance in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) under real-life conditions and identified factors related to long-term remission. The authors concluded that at 7 years nearly twice as many patients were in remission than at 1 year of follow-up and those patients had mainly received co-prescription with disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs).

This study evaluated the cost-effectiveness of low-dose prednisolone (Omnipred) at 5 mg daily in the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) aged 65 years or more. The study found that a low dose of prednisolone was an effective add-on treatment for patients with RA based on similar or lower costs compared to a placebo for over two years.

This study compared the occurrence of infections and identified their risk factors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) that were treated with tofacitinib (Xeljanz) against those given a tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi). The data showed that serious and non-serious infections were higher in patients that received tofacitinib compared to a TNFi.

This study investigated the occurrence of osteoporosis (OP) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The authors concluded that although significant advancements were made in OP prevention, treatment and diagnosis, a high occurrence was still observed in patients with RA.

The study evaluated the effectiveness of reducing cardiovascular events (CVE) with immunomodulatory (IM) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The main finding was that IM showed improvements in vascular inflammation in this group of patients.

This study assessed the effectiveness and safety of daily administered prednisolone (Prelone) at a dose of 5 mg, as an add-on to the standard of care (SOC) in older patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The authors concluded that low-dose prednisolone added to SOC had long-term benefits in these patients with a favorable balance of benefit and harm.

This analysis compared the effectiveness of different acupuncture therapies combined with disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The data indicated that RA disease activity was most improved by combining electro-acupuncture and DMARDs while fire-needle or moxibustion plus DMARDs were most effective at improving pain and reducing inflammation.

This study investigated the effect of filgotinib (Jyseleca) on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients that had active rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The study showed that filgotinib improved PROs in these patients and can be a treatment option for patients with insufficient responses to methotrexate (Otrexup; MTX), biological disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (bDMARDs), and those that are MTX-naive (have never received MTX).
