This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of microwave ablation (MWA) therapy for the treatment of lung metastases in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). The data showed that MWA therapy might be a safe and effective option for these patients.

This study evaluated the effects of the plant-based polyphenol-rich extract TOTUM-63 on glucose control in patients with prediabetes or early-stage newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes (T2D). The data showed that TOTUM-63 was safe and lowered fasting blood glucose in these patients. 

This study compared the occurrence of infections and identified their risk factors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) that were treated with tofacitinib (Xeljanz) against those given a tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi). The data showed that serious and non-serious infections were higher in patients that received tofacitinib compared to a TNFi.

This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of FOLFOXIRI (fluorouracil, leucovorin, oxaliplatin, and irinotecan) plus bevacizumab (Avastin) with or without atezolizumab (Tecentriq) on the outcomes of patients with metastatic (m) colorectal cancer (CRC). The study showed that adding atezolizumab to FOLFOXIRI plus bevacizumab regimen was safe and improved survival outcomes in these patients.

This review analyzed the effectiveness and safety of nutrient supplements for the control of blood glucose and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). The authors concluded that there is currently a lack of sufficient clinical evidence to support the use of nutrient supplements for blood glucose control and improved insulin resistance in these patients.

This study evaluated the 7-year follow-up remission rate and maintenance in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) under real-life conditions and identified factors related to long-term remission. The authors concluded that at 7 years nearly twice as many patients were in remission than at 1 year of follow-up and those patients had mainly received co-prescription with disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs).

This study evaluated the effect of patient-reported physical and mental health status before revascularization procedures such as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) on their long-term outcomes in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). The data showed that patient-reported physical and mental health status before the procedures was strongly associated with long-term mortality in these patients. Patients with the best physical and mental health had better 10-year survival with CABG compared with PCI.

This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of different platinum-based chemotherapy regimens given after surgery for the treatment of early-stage resected non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The authors concluded that the combination of cisplatin (Platinol)-vinorelbine (Nevelbine) improved the outcomes of these patients. Also, the authors suggested that this analysis may provide some guiding significance for doctors when determining the optimal chemotherapy regimen after surgery.

The study evaluated the effectiveness of massage therapy for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CPIN) in patients with breast and gastrointestinal (GI) cancer. The main finding of the study was that intensive massage therapy 3 times a week showed promising results in these patients. 

This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of rituximab (Rituxan) biosimilar HLX01 combined with methotrexate (MTX; Trexall) in patients with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) following inadequate responses to MTX. The study showed that HLX01 added to MTX resulted in improvements compared to placebo in these patients.
