This study investigated the effectiveness and safety of preventative antibiotic treatment with clarithromycin (Biaxin) to prevent skin-related side effects associated with panitumumab (Vectibix) treatment for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). The data showed that clarithromycin administered daily along with a simple skincare regimen significantly reduced the skin-related side effects associated with panitumumab for these patients.

This study looked at the overall birth rate using multiple in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles and freezing all embryos. It found that when using multiple cycles, the birth rate varied widely depending on the woman’s age and cause of infertility.

This study investigated whether chiropractic spinal therapy helped improve movement in patients who had a stroke. This study found that this therapy combined with physical therapy (PT) greatly improved motor function for these patients.

This study looked at the effect of canagliflozin (Invokana) on hospitalization occurrence in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). It found that patients treated with canagliflozin were less likely to be admitted to the hospital than patients treated with placebo. 

This study compared the Mediterranean diet (MD) with the low-fat diet (LFD) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). It found that after 3 months the MD was associated with higher omega-3 levels than the LFD.

This study looked at the effect of safinamide (Xadago) on rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behavioral disorder (RBD) in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). It found that safinamide 50 mg daily improved RBD symptoms in these patients.

This study looked at the use of closed-loop glucose control treatment for patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) requiring dialysis. It found that compared to standard insulin therapy, closed-loop glucose control led to improved glucose control in these patients. 

This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of triple combination therapy with immune and targeted therapies in patients with stage III-IV melanoma. The data showed that triple combination therapy was associated with increased survival benefits with manageable side effects for these patients.

This study evaluated the effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) versus chemotherapy in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) andy brain metastases (BM). The data showed that the effectiveness of ICIs was similar in patients with no BM symptoms and/or treated BMs. For patients with BMs, ICI combination therapy was associated with a greater overall survival benefit than that from ICI therapy alone.

This study looked at the impact of carotenoids to protect against the development of diabetic retinopathy (DR; eye disease). It found that daily carotenoid supplementation may improve the health of the retina and improve subtle changes in vision caused by DR.
